Airlines are so worried about their beloved passengers paying a share of the
taxes to support the FAA and ATC, BUT they love them paying the airline
itself.

regulation-sheltered, quasi-governmental entities into rational capitalistic
enterprises.

The day will soon come when Part 121 service reaches rock bottom commodity
levels. Then, smart operators will find ways to differentiate themselves
with better service that passengers will be willing to pay extra for.

Meanwhile, the cutthroat competition is driving the desperate cattle carriers
to try to make things tougher on their most hated fare stealers, the bizjets.
Spam can drivers are just leaves in the wind of this political storm.

As the article said European low cost carriers have been doing it for years
and some of the big carriers are following suit.

Ryanair even sells lottery tickets on board - what is worse some people
even buy them.

anyway as long as it keeps prices down I am happy.

The Lo costs also have some of the most modern fleets which give them a big
advantage over the legacy carriers who tend to have older less fuel
efficient aircraft making it doubly hard.
