"The pilot applied emergency brakes before the take off after one of its four engines failed. This generated excessive heat and burst all its 16 tyres, " That's what's supposed to happen. Bertie Sounds like the a/c was close to V1. Ralph Nesbitt Professional FD/CFR/ARFF Type Very likely. I recall the Brtitish documentary series '21st Century Jet' about the B777. Had to do exactly this type of 'refused take-off' for certification. Sure enough most the tyres caught fire once it came to a stop ( after a while ) from the intense heat in the brakes. No big deal - it worked like it's supposed to. ( Bertie's right - damn well should be if he's really an airline pilot ). Go **** yourself you wannbe asshole planespotting Netkopping ****. Bertie |
