I have run across information that the Spads of the 1st Pursuit group were
fitted with Marlin machine guns beginning September 30 1918. I assume the conversion was fairly quick as 1/2 of the groups planes were taken out of line to get the guns and I assume that the 2nd half was fitted as soon as the other half were done. Does anyone have any pics of this installation. Does anyone know if Rickenbackers Spad was fitted with the Marlins. I think he was about at victory 14 or 15 around this time. Al |
