I picked up an ICOM A-24 hand held com and nav radio at OSH last
summer. I keep it clipped to the pocket next to me in the Bonanza in case of emergency or to listen to ATIS, get a clearance, etc. I found it laying on the floor of the plane last weekend. The pivot for the clip had broken and the spring loaded belt clip came off. Apparantly the spring pressure that closes the clip is just enough to push the pivot pin thru the plastic attachment points over time. The thickness of the pocket material it was clamped to is minimal. ICOM is sending a new one, but I'll store it unclipped and inside of the pocket from now on. Just a head's up. Bob |
