How is it registered? Surely it cannot be registered both as a glider and an airplane. Doesn't it have to be registered as one or the other and only the holder of the appropriate certificate is authorized to fly it. Andy |

Why is it limiting, if one has a private glider license? Marc It is not limiting for as a "Private Glider Pilot"; however, if you are flying it as a "Lite Sport Glider Pilot" you are limited to a max altitude of 10,000' which is lower then the top of many ridges in our part of the country. N24PV appears to be registered as a glider. I'm curious to know how you found that out. The registration database I checked shows Experimental and Exhibition but does not indicate the category. Andy |

Andy,
You can see the "N" number in the Wings and Wheels ad. The online FAA database search is located at http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinqu...um_inquiry.asp Wayne HP-14 "6F" http://www.soaridaho.com/Schreder "Andy" wrote in message ... FAA database search is located at Thanks. I have been using the database accessed from www.landings.com. Follow bottom of page link "databases". It lists a different set of registration data that does not include the category. In any event it appears that the ad on Wings and Wheels is misleading. The only pilots that can legally fly this aircraft of holders of a glider rating. (with SL endorsement if not grandfathered) Andy |
