Does anyone remember the F-104 that holds/held the world _sea-level_ speed
record? Was it flown by Fosset? I'm going back to the '80's-90's I think,
but it was red all over and there was a control problem and the pilot had to
eject. I'd love some details of that if anyone knows.

Darryl Greenamyer, aircraft called the Red Baron, late 70's. Lost when
landing gear failed. All of it is IIRC.

Thanks, Clark. Now you can see why Mitchell's post reminded me so much of
the record holder: http://www.pioneer.net/~fitzrr/104rb.jpg

Isn't the Red Baron the F-104 that was built entirely from spare parts?
