Rich George has opened a glider re-finishing shop near Redding, CA. I
have worked with him on my latest re-build of a DG-300 and he re- finished the wings. He is quite a craftsman and one hell of a hard worker. We stripped one wing and I finally had to tell him to go home because I didn't work that hard in a month! His work is outstanding, the first prospective buyer for this DG took one look and whipped out his check book and bought it on the spot. I showed Rich how to make up templates and he reproduced the airfoil from the worst looking bunch of cracked cel-coat I have ever seen! I told him he's nuts to get involved in the nasty re-finishing business, but he wants to do it. Get on his schedule before he decides to raise his rates. Right now he's quoting 15K + materials to do a 15 meter ship in acrylic urethane. Most shops are much more and or, like me, just won't do it anymore! Photos of his work available.
