Every 6 months we were supposed to have a 'shoot' so we got a pilot of fly a
jet and he pulled a 'sleeve' on a 5 mile cable (so they told us) and we would lock on the 'sleeve' and tell the pilot to turn, then fire the missle at the 'sleeve'. I always was glad I wasn't that pilot. That missle's guidance system was composed of vacuum tubes, resistor, capacators, etc. and it was designed to be blown up (and on low bid).
