Single Engine F35 For Carrier Use ?
Hello:
Just curious: Is the naval community "happy" with the idea of a single engine (F35) aircraft for carrier use ? Hasn't there always been the thought that two is way-better ? B.

And I suppose you could also include the single engine Harrier/Matador's that are in service with the USMC, the British Royal Navy, Spain, Thailand, Italy, and India as well. However for the big CV/CVN's of the US Navy I believe the last single engine jets were the A-7. I remember the Kennedy had a Corsair II squadron during Desert Storm in 1991. ALV

The Kennedy was refitted to handle 18s after the 90-91 cruise. I was with VA-174 when they decommisioned in 1988, and was thinking that all the A-7s were gone by 1991, but it ain't so.
