NTE EASY FRs in the US

Unless/until NT Easy Flight Recorder data files can be validated by SSA as
required by Sporting Code Section 3, 4.6.4(b) and paragraph B4 of the NTE
Easy IGC Approval Document dated 10 January 2007, the NTE Easy Flight
Recorder will not be accepted for FAI badge or record flights made in the
United States.

This notice comes as the result of unsuccessful attempts over a 4-month
period to validate the first/only NTE Easy Flight Recorder data file
received by SSA to date. The problem is an error message of "Vali Error!
2" recieved when checking all copies of the subject data file; this is
believed related to an incompatibility between New Technologies' DLL and
the Windows Vista platform. Notably, the current IGC Shell and all other
manufacturers' current DLLs function normally on this platform.

SSA apologizes for the inconvenience and looks forward to working with
GFAC and New Technologies srl to resolve this problem.
