I am going to be in AZ next week and want to include a flight to
Sedona. I have heard various things about landing there.... for example you land uphill on runway 03 but take-off downhill on 21 - then I heard you can land and take-off from either. Which is true ? Thanks Basil |

Thanks Basil What you have described is the normal practice at Sedona, assuming light winds. But both runway ends are available for either takeoff or landing if necessary. Landing on 3 and taking off on 21 is easier with respect to the runway slope and also the surrounding terrain. Enjoy your trip. It's a beautiful place. Mike I have seen on youtube some very long straight in approaches to 03 |

The custom of landing on 3 and departing on 21 is not documented in the AFD. It's just local common practice. (and seems like no harm in asking here). Mike |

Looks like it may be off anyway, with the TFR for the wildfire and the winds
expected to pick up over the weekend - ah well !!! Next time "Mike Adams" wrote in message ... Blanche wrote: 1. Get out the A/FD and read the info 2. Go to Airnav.com and read the info 3. Actually here is the reference that led to mu OP.
All arrivals and departures use standard uncontrolled airport AIM procedures. Land and take off into the wind, left traffic to both runways. (This is a recent change from the old recommendation of landing 03 and departing 21, so be alert for folks who haven't gotten the word.) "Flight of One" wrote in message ... Good morning or good evening depending upon your location. I want to ask you the most important question of your life. Your joy or sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer.
