How much faster do you need to fly any FAI distance for it to count as
a new record? For example, if my current state's 300km triangle record is 72 miles per hour does someone just need to fly it 73 miles per hour or is there a certain percentage to improve by? Thanks, Bruno |

A quick scan of the FAI sporting code section 3 says:
"3.0.4 World record margins: A new record claim must exceed the current value by 1 kilometre for distance, 1 km/h for speed, and 3% for altitude." Note that this is for World records. your local area mileage may vary.
