Soo, what do they call the 3-seater HG? Curious - wartime drawings I have show
that craft as being labeled HG III.

Donate your memories - write a note on the back and send your old photos to a
reputable museum, don't take them with you when you're gone.

The Germans wanted to use the wing sweep of the HG II on the
three-seat nightfighter Me-262 project using the HeS 011 engines. They
did not, however, want to bury them in the wing roots. The drawings I
have show the original 3-seater with the HG IIs wings and underslung
turbojets.
The British were the ones that worked with Messerschmitt engineers on
toying with the buried engine layout, which would have been a stage II
aircraft if it were ever built.
The British were the ones that incorrectly labeled the 3-seater as HG
III. The Germans list it as "Messerschmitt 262 3-seat nightfighter
using HeS-011 engines". It was always intended as a nightfighter, not
a day fighter.
Hope this helps...

And, like most of the fantasy aircraft of the third reich, it never flew.
