Bose Aviation-X Headset Update by
Jose
freakin' fantastic, and it's worth the $900 and something bucks!
My old set is a DC 13-44S.
While installing an ANR kit into a DC headset might be cheaper,
You are going from a passive headset to an ANR headset? If so, the
praise belongs more to ANR than to BOSE, IMHO, though I will...

Find the roof-top logos by
john smith
From AVweb.com, 23 January 2006...
Companies are getting their messages out via satellite thanks to Google
Maps by painting their logos on rooftops. At least one Target store has
already emblazoned its familiar bull's-eye on the roof for a
seen-from-space (or aircraft) ad...

Landing strip off of Port O Connor, TX? by
Ricky Summersett
When I and my brothers were kids our dad (deceased) used to fly us
down to the Gulf Coast several times during the Summer in the family
C-182. We'd go fishing, catch loads of Sheepshead and sunburn, play on
the deserted beach and fly back to San Antonio.
I would like to go back to this...

Normal voltage drop by
Robert M. Gary
When I turn on a lot of accessories on my Mooney F '76 I can drop the
bus voltage down to around 13.6. My A&P says 13.6 is normal with
accessories on. Does this sound right?

Bose Aviation-X Headset Update by
Victor J. Osborne, Jr.
Yes, it's all about the pain when you buy but then you settle in for the
long haul. Ten years from now and you still have the best (our shared
opinion) headset, it'll be $100 yr, not bad.
Enjoy.
Thx, {|;-)
Victor J. (Jim) Osborne, Jr.
Happy Bose X user.

Not sure who to ask... by
reykjavik
....but I figured this may be a good place to start. I've noticed
recently that during take-off I feel such an immense pressure against
my head and chest area that I literally can't even see straight. (its a
very strange feeling of helplessness that lasts maybe 10 seconds after
take off) I know...

Flying Through Midnight by
Dave D
I read Flying Through Midnight, by John Halliday, this weekend.
It is an amazing story about a forward air controller over Laos is 1970.
The aviation stuff is great, but it's about a lot more than flying. Could'nt
put it down.

Big Bend, Texas airport? by
Rachel
I've been thinking about going sometime this spring, but the thought of
driving five hours from Midland or El Paso just isn't appealing. Has
anyone flown any closer? It looks like there is an airport in
Terlingua, which I'm guessing is the closest you can get. Anyone been
there?

New Angel Flight NE Reqs by
Marco Leon
Just a heads up to the northeast pilots interested in Angel Flight. Just got
a call informing me that the new requirements as of January 1, 2006 is 250
hours PIC. It's no longer just the 300 hours total time. I'm about 15 hours
short of that so I'll be put in the system pending the hours and...

Delorme Earthmate GPS for Aviation? by
Andrew Sarangan
I recently bought the Delorme Earthmate GPS and mapping (street map)
software for $100 and was tremendously satisfied with its capability.
It runs on a laptop and has all kinds of functions useful for driving.
I was wondering if there is a compatible software for aviation use.

Why do jets leave a white trail behind them. by
AliR
Hi everyone,
Me and a friend are wondering why jets leave a white trail behind them. My
guess is that it's moisture being compressed as it passes through the
turbine (because some leave a single trail, while others leave two separate
trails). My friend thinks it's because of moisture being...
