Experience with Avionics West??? by
nooneimportant
Does anyone have any experience good or bad ordering from Avionics West?
They have a lower price on the Lightspeed 20XL2 than any other place I've
seen so far, but as some of the stuff on the page looks a little outdated
(reviews for products not in production etc..) I am a little nervous...

Bad News from Plumbus Bobbus - I'm outta here by
plumbus bobbus
Flying Chums,
I cannot take it any more. I tried my best to extort a free night from the
guy from the aviation themed hotel in that midwest city that really should
not exist. But I was unsuccessful. It seems I ended up doing a great
marketing job for hotel with excessive airport noise pollution....

Approach speeds for ILS by
G.R. Patterson III
Ok,
I've been following C.J.'s thread for a while and have a question. I'm not an
intrument rated pilot, though I've studied for it a few times. In my aircraft,
it's more comfortable to fly the glideslope at 60 knots than at 80. If the
controllers aren't hammering at you to keep the speed up,...

Pattern Entry Procedures - FAA Guidance by
Bill Denton
During a recent discussion of pattern entry procedures I mentioned that I
had submitted the question to the O'Hare FSDO. After being forwarded about
five times in the FAA beauracracy, my email eventually reached Inspector
Sandra Boerman, who responded thursly:
The FAA guidance for traffic pattern...

A 707/720 question by
DeltaDeltaDelta
It's a little off topic, but I have a question for any 707/720 pilots. I'm
doing a short seminar work on radio antennas on aircraft for my university
and I have been doing some research on the side to see what form and
position antennas take on different aircraft. I read somewhere that that
pointy...

I just found the kind of GA story we'd all like to see more of:

N73827 is for sale by
Roger Long
We have decided to try and sell N73827 "as is - where is" and take the loss
so we can clear the decks and move on to getting a new S plane on line as
soon as possible. Many of you here know what I've been through with that
plane and can understand what it's like to hang out the "For Sale"...

I am pleased as punch that Bob Orr is finding his feet to be white hot and
felt that he had to write a rebuttal to AOPA... Means we are having some

Home made aviation websites are cool! by
CFLav8r
I have over time really enjoyed looking at the personal websites that some
have developed about their flying.
Most recently I enjoyed the biography of Filip Zawadiak
http://vyx.net/~philz/gillespie .
I was wondering how many others have websites with pictures and videos of
your flying...

Capt. Al Haynes sorta OT. by

I know everyone hear remember Capt. Haynes. Capt. Haynes was the pilot of
United flight 232 when the center engine suffered an uncontained failure
and the DC-10 lost all of its hydraulic systems. Capt. Haynes landed the
ship at Sioux City using differential power. His handling of the...

Just seen on Fox news:

We were looking for a place to take the kids overnight for the MLK Day
school break. Requirements were simple: An airport, and an indoor
waterpark.
Grand Geneva Resort -- the old Playboy Club in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin --
recently added a new indoor waterpark for kids. (Hugh Hefner must...
