How many pilots are there? by
bangbang
Just curious - does anyone know about how many licensed pilots there
are in the US?
I believe AOPA claims membership of about 400,000 - I wonder what
percentage of licensed pilots that represents?
Thanks.

I am a CFII looking for some high quality training software for the Garmin 430

If anyone saved a DUATS for Sunday mid morning on routes between PWM and LEB
and could send me or post the winds aloft section I would greatly appreciate
it. I did some climb tests this morning and returned home to discover that
I spaced out and forgot to save my DUATS forcast.
Is this stuff...

Learning to fly in the Richmond, VA area by
Meriah Crawford
Hiya,
Does anyone have suggestions as to where to go for lessons in the Richmond,
VA area? I'm north of the James, but can travel, of course. I'd prefer not
to go as far as Charlottesville or Williamsburg, where I know there are
Cessna schools. (Don't remember the exact term.)
Thanks very...

Ferry Tanks (Bay Area) by
SteveK
Shortly, I will have to fly a Baron from USA to Australia.
Can anyone give me the names of companies in the Bay Area (SFO/OAK)
that install ferry tanks.
I was also wondering do you buy the tanks or what? Or do you hire
them and return them after you reach your destination.
Steve.

NYC/Hudson VFR Corridor...finally! by
Andrew Gideon
I've been a pilot for a number of years, now. The first flight in a GA
airplane I took as a passenger - the trip that flipped me over into
learning to fly - included a trip down the Hudson corridor. I've been
wanting to do this for a while myself.
I was in the air with my wife, with the trip...

I plan to fly from Tucson to Fort Worth tomorrow and see that Meacham lists,

things. They also have a picture of that C-172 hanging from that building in
Florida (it was Florida, right)?...

Interial Nav Systems by
Duck Dog
I was reading some of the ICAO findings of the Korean Air 007
shootdown, and I was struck by the fact that an intertial navigation
system on the 747 was used for much of the overseas flight. Of
course, this was 1983 and GPS was probably not used in civilian
aircraft yet, so I really shouldn't be...
