molding plexiglas websites? by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I'm want to replace the windows in my airplane and want to make my own.
I've got an oven, piece of plexiglas and the old window.
Are there any good websites with information on how to do this without
killing myself?
Thanks

worn injector? by
[email protected]
I've had trouble getting my IO360 to run lean lately - Cylinder 4 EGT
runs a coolest when rich, but when I lean, #4 peaks a LOT later than
the other 3, and at much higher EGT (1500+ compared with 1400+ on the
others. I'm just wondering whether the orifice on #4 could be worn and
now just running...

Engine Mods by
Paul Missman
I just had the O-235-L2C in my Tomahawk overhauled, and the 125 HP mod
performed at the same time. Now it is getting 2700 RPM at just under 400
degrees CHT, during break in, and cruising between 100-105 knots. Before
the rebuild, cruise was about 2400 RPM and about 90 knots.
I'm very happy with...

Beechcraft 'Mouse' Fly-in at Atlantic City by
[email protected]
We are planning a VERY informal gathering of Beechcraft "Mouse" drivers
at Bader Field, Atlantic City NJ, on March 12. All are welcome.
The "Mouse" lineup includes the Musketeer (the origin of the Mouse
handle), Sierra, Sundowner, Sport, Super, and a few more I'm probably
missing.
C'mon up, down...

Planeless by
C J Campbell
Well, I have sold my plane. Coincidentally, it is going to the same place
where I will be doing missionary work -- the Philippines. Perhaps I shall
see it again some day.
It feels funny to be planeless after seven years of ownership. I will be
looking for another plane when we get back in late...

Recommendations on Lycoming Overhauled/Rebuilt/Remanufacturered? by
Bob Chilcoat
We're beginning to converge on TBO in our '74 Archer. At the rate we're all
flying (four partners) we'll hit 2000 hours next year sometime. Plane uses
a bit of oil, but compressions were OK at last annual (new one is this
month, so we'll see). Engine runs very well at the moment.
At any rate,...

My Airplane Needs Diapers... by
Jon Kraus
When I was in the car painting business we used to use baby diapers for
a non lint, non scratching way of wiping down cars before and after
painting. They were awesome, reusable, soft rags... I was thinking that
they would be perfect for the airplanes plexiglass cleaning and a host
of other uses......

Anybody use Airtech Instrument at BFI? by
[email protected]
I took our sick DG to Airtech Instrument at BFI in Seattle. They can
overhaul ours for around $450, or provide an exchange overhauled unit for
$495, which seems like a reasonable price. (This is an Edo/Mitchell vacuum
DG with heading bug for the AP).
Does anyone have any feedback (good, bad or...

Cessna 172 upkeep by
redman
I am currently taking flying lessons to get my private license. I've
been thinking about buying a 172 sometime after I get my license.
Looking for some input on a ballpark amount of the annual upkeep.
How much does an annual cost? How much does the 100 hr. inspection
cost? I realize that if...

Oil leak spotted around push rod tube seals by
Peter R.
Sigh Nine hours now on the newly rebuilt Continental IO-520 with
Superior Millennium cylinders, and already the primary fuel pump is going
back to the company for repair or replacement. More importantly, oil is
escaping from the #2 and #5 cylinders' push rod tube seals (at the
Continental case...

Oil Leak on top of the engine -- follow up by
Jay Honeck
After finding the case bolts on top of our 500-hour Lycoming O-540
loose enough to cause a minor oil leak yesterday, today I had my A&P
check the torque of all the through bolts and cylinder bolts that could
be reached without dismantling the engine.
As I watched him check, one by one, they were...

Seneca V vs. Navajo operating costs by
Jarema
Hello,
From your own experience, could you tell me approx. direct hour cost
for Navajo and Seneca V?
Is Navajo much more expensive than Seneca?
Any comments about Seneca's anti-ice system?
And another question: Is buying Seneca V from 1997 with about 650hours
