ASW27 wing profile templates by
basils27
I know its a bit early but next winter (in the UK) I'm going to de-shrink
and profile my wings. To save me going throught the whole template process
myself, has anyone got a set of templates (even leading edge only) or files
(computer, not rough bits of metal) that could be used for...

Canopy Covers by

What companies are you guys recommending for canopy covers? I am in the
market for one for my Discus. I was going to use Ridge Sewing but their
web page says they are not taking any orders.
Thanks
Brian

Long wing twisting by
JJ Sinclair
I survived an unexpected twisting of my ASH-25 wing a few years back.
The situation was as follows; speed 145 knots, altitude 50 feet (finish
line). After receiving my "Good Finish JJ", I initiated a climbing left
turn to exchange speed for altitude, about 30 degrees nose up and
banked 45 degrees...

Help: Pirat (SZD30) part needed by
Ian Johnston
Dear Soaring world,
I need, fairly urgently, the connector on the wing centre section
which attaches the ailerons: it's flat plate with a threaded rod at
one end and two self-aligning bearings.
If anyone has any Pirat bits, or has a smashed Pirat, or knows anyone
in either of these categories,...

Gary Mitchell is a ****in' Freak!!!! by
Brad
Hey Gary,
now that's the way to extend your flight time.....and be comfortable!
Five hours was my limit in my old Sensor 510 with a Bennet pod (I am
dating myself here...:o) Of course I did not drink anything either.
This was back in the days of B.C. (Before Camelbacks)

Ipaq and Sunglasses by
Ray Lovinggood
I've had to replace a balky Compaq Aero 1520, running
Glide Navigator II with an Ipaq. I was worried about
the readability of the color screen vs. the gray scale
of the Aero.
The newer Ipaq is a 3955. I decided to go for an Ipaq
rather than another Aero, like a 1550, because:
1. The Ipaq was...

Old Peschges VP-3 Question by
Wayne Paul
I have a VP-3, firmware version 45.1P, installed in my HP-14. My library
contains two different VP-3 manuals. One manual is obviously for a later
model then mine; however, the earlier manual may also be more modern than my
VP-3.
Both manuals have a series performance item which are entered in...

Kent Gliding Club (UK) by
Justin Fielding
Hi guys, I have been thinking about starting to fly gliders (I have
previously flown R/C and Paragliders). I am based in the Southern
London suburbs, Kenley is only about 15 mins from me, but they do not
fly over the weekends from what I can tell, so for a person who works
Mon-Fri this makes it...

I removed a Blumenauer Vario from my plane (Ventus C). I was wondering
if anybody knows where I can get this unit checked. I am not putting it
back on my plane, but I could keep it as a spare.
I'll appreciate your input... please write to kols4(at)hotmail(dot)com.

Fatal accident near Wenatchee, WA by
[email protected]
Surprisingly no one has posted this before now. There is a high plateau
just north of the airport. A basalt cliff drops several hundred feet to
the valley (and airport) below. Most soaring is done on the plateau.
There is a temptation to try to squirt over the rim if you get low,
even though there...

Haze domes by
Roger Kelly
Any 'haze dome' experts out there? Last weekend we had two blue days and
having read Bob Wander's "The Art of Thermaling .. Made Easy" in which he
states that haze domes can be seen from the ground, I spent a lot of my
time both on the ground and in flight looking for them. No doubt
conditions...
