Theoretical best approach speed? by
Pete Brown
How does the manufacturer of new gliders determine the
recommended best approach speed. ?
JAR 22 specifies the yellow triangle on the airspeed
indicator to be at the manufacturer's lowest recommended
approach speed at max weight without water ballast but I
can't find how that that speed should...

OK, since you have to know...
Charter, my regular ISP (cable company), doesn't have dial-up access
that can be used when I'm traveling. While traveling, I use a free ISP
(www.access-4-free.com) to connect to the Internet for email and web
stuff, but it doesn't have newsgroups. For that, I use a...

Did your ELT work? by
Eric Greenwell
Ed Byars said he has had two successful 121.5 style ELT activations; I
know a pilot in our club that had a successful activation (the police
were alerted and arrived in short while). So the scorecard is:
3 Successful activations
? Unsuccessful activations
I don't know of any other cases. This is...

bottom cu's. The best climb of the day was SM with a 17 kt average over several
thousand. Folks, these aren't vario readings, but the average climb over
several thousand ft. seen on See You. Yep, all had great flights,...

Electronic declaration by

2 questions folks.
1 - How does one declared a free distance task electronically?
Declare takeoff and (possible) landing points only?
2 - If a declaration of any task is made electronically and the logger is
sealed in the glider does the declaration still need to be refreshed every
day to include...

Can anyone please tell me how a Colibri can be connected

replacement for an unreliable laptop; no particular
need for realtime or postflight display software, only
the data capture. Can I buy a suitable...

Parowan Day 4 6-23 by
TomnKeyLargo
Some build ups, so, like whats the problem man. Like none, 7V blew the doors
off in Standard at 93 mph. KS ran around 90 mph in Sports. Then comes P7, like
98 mph in 15 Meter. The weather did have bumpers in all areas. Standards had a
AST, 15 Meters changed to a 1 turn MAT with a 3 hour window....

Outlandings Austria, Inn valley by
Jean
Hello
Preparing a camp in Samedan - Looking at the excellent
http://www.aussenlandefelder.org/ I was surprised to find nothing in the
Inn valley east of Imst and Innsbruck area. It is unlandable - or so easy
that there is no need to reference anything ?
Thanks for advice

Electronic declaration (for Volkslogger) by
stephanevdv
There seems to be some problems with Volkslogger declarations generated
by other than the Volkslogger DOS software (that won't work reliably on
many recent Windows computers), e.g. the sector definition can change
(it happens when I make a WinPilot declaration and upload it to
Volkslogger).
I find...

MLR+IPAQ->OLC? by
jaro
Hi folks,
It's typical syndrome of horror vacui. I've got gps MLR and PDA Ipaq 5500. I
connected both devices. Now I would like to receive tracks from my GPS and
send them by my Ipaq directly to OLC server. Does anybody knows any software
with such option?

not guide the aircraft right over the spot ? Or are
ADFs not carried anymore in...

Hi,
My ASW-20 is equipped with an LX4000 (no GPS) connected to an LX20 as

calculation.
Yesterday, the wind was pretty strong. After a couple of turns in a
few thermals and straight flight toward my first waypoint, the LX4000
tells me...
