cable splicing(w/o ferrules) by
Andy Davey
When I flew for the Air cadets, we used to just tie
a reefknot in the cable and tape over the 'tails' with
the same tape as racing cyclists used to use for their
handlebars(basically cloth tape) . You need to leave
about 4' tails. This worked fine and takes about 30
seconds to do with a good team....

Marc Arsenault
Hello all,
Does anyone have an idea on the cost to overhaul a Hauffman 3 position pitch
propeller for the Grob 109? Failling this, what would be the purchase cost?
Cheers

Waxing your trailer(New Thread) by
Pete Reinhart
All,
It's been kinda quiet so that must mean soaring season is on it's threshold
and every one is waiting with bated breath for it to actually start.
While waiting you really must consider if you have done ALL of the
maintenance items you need to attend to, so I propose two questions:
1. Have you...

Idea for a story by
jim.lynchehaun
Idea for a story:
Jac Lynch had more than his fair share of problems when working for the
Pee-Bag Company. When he left his job he agreed to have the Corporate
Ombudsman of Pee-Bags's American parent company review his case. What
started out as a human resources issue, became a security crisis...

Taos in June by
Paul Bloxham
Hi,
Does anyone have any info regarding the Taos camp at the end of May/
beginning of June. When exactly, where to register, where to stay etc.
I'm registered for the Alamagordo camp, and was thinking on stopping in Taos
on the way back to Fort Worth.
Thanks

Beeps, squeals and honks. by
Bill Daniels
I can't figure which thread to put this suggestion into, so here's a new
one.
Filling a cockpit with raucous warning noises is very likely to be confusing
in a stressful situation - fortunately, there is another way. Instead of an
electronic noisemaker, use small .wav files burned into EPROM's of...

Variometers as audible AOA indicators by
Jeff Dorwart
This is basically the same as the operation of the
Cessna Stall warning reed horn. On single engine Cessna
aircraft there is a double reed with an adjusting ring
in the leading edge of the wing. If the pressure gets
too low, i.e. too much lift (low pressure on top of
the leading edge) generated...
