Scotch tape by
ASM
I used to buy 1” tape to seal my wing/fuselage and the rest from Uline. Inside of the roll the only thing it says is 3M Scotch. Does anyone know the exact type? Thanks.

Stowing water? by
[email protected]
I am finding the summer heat to be quite difficult to manage in the southwestern USA. At the moment I have just been shoving a water bottle in my pocket but this proves to be somewhat uncomfortable and more of a pain in the rear to remove and use which makes me not drink as much as I maybe should....

Becker Transponder E10 error message by
Steve Cameron
I've recently bought a glider that has an older Becker transponder(mode c), and every time I turn it on it invariably displays the E10 error code. In reading past reports of this issue(2006/2008) on the net this seemed to be a fairly common occurence, with no real solution. Becker says its a...

Spot or InReach ?? by
Jonathan St. Cloud
My Spot renewal has come up, but not charged. Called Spot tried to get some info on their new device. Couldn't even find out if one would need a different data plan to access the two-way features. Tried a google search for information on the next gen two-way spot but could not find...

Pilot report from Hahnweide Mid-air by
Justin Craig[_3_]
I agree. Excellent report, however he is not retiring from competition
flying, quite the opposite. He still intends to fly competitions, but will
be selective about which ones.

Recommendations for cataract surgery lenses for flying by
teck48[_2_]
I'm due for cataract surgery. Any good or bad experiences with lens implants for flying? Eye doc is recommending multi focus lenses (as opposed to mono focus). And a slightly different lens in each eye. Both multifocal, but dominant eye implant optimized for distance. Anyone have any experience?...

Roof Rack for bikes on a cobra clamshell top? by
Matt Herron Jr.
I have searched discussions on bike racks and trailers. I tend not to like the trailer hitch extension solution as stability is compromised, as well as access to the car or trailer hatches. Has anyone installed a traditional roof rack on top of a fiberglass Cobra trailer? Looking to support one...

Iran and GPS etc by
Jim White[_3_]
I watch with despair as Trump tears up the Iran Nuclear Agreement.
However I wonder whether this is the same as trying to hold back
technology in gliding competition: no flight computer, no GPS, no
moving map, no Flarm display, no online weather, no nuclear bombs?
It is probably inevitable...

Flat external FLARM antenna? by
Matt Herron Jr.
Flarm antennas are a real pain for ships with carbon hulls. Coverage is always poor, especially below. Is there a way to make a perfectly flat and thin antenna that could be taped to the outside of the hull and fed through a small (1/8"?) hole? I am thinking 2 thin wire strands, or foil strips,...

ASW 19 Seat back by

Looking for an ASW-19 Seat back. A friend of mine purchased a ASW-19 but the previous owner lost or could not find the seat back.
Anyone have sources for used glider parts US/Europe? I have asked Williams to look into getting one from the factory but will be pricey!
Thanks in advance,
Colin...

Ilec SB-8 manual by

Does anyone of you have an Ilec SB-8 manual and could email me a link? One of my gliders has SB-8 however, there is a second vario with 3 knobs and it seems that the SB-8 main unit is somehow connected to the “second” unit. It looks like the second unit is responding to any air movement around...

Notable Power Flarm saves - Is it 'worth it'? by
son_of_flubber
When I installed Power Flarm (PF) in 2013, I had no idea whether it would ever 'save my butt'. Not many people have it in my area.
Last October I was flying by myself on a weekday in the Sugarbush Wave, at 8000 climbing, and squawking 1202 (on a TT21 that came with the glider). I gave Burlington...
