FlarmNet database download links removed by
Matt Herron Jr.
Anyone know why the FlarmNet download links have been temporarily removed, and when they will be restored?
BTW, this is an excellent time to REGISTER YOUR AIRCRAFT if you own a Flarm and have not yet done so. Follow the link he http://www.flarmnet.org/index.php/en/register-now
Thanks,
Matt...

Soaring Cafe? by
Renny[_2_]
Does anyone know if "Soaring Cafe" is still operational? The website still works and its Facebook site also works, but I have seen no new postings since the end of December. Now, perhaps it is because there have been no submissions, but it does all seem a bit strange.
So, does anyone know "what"...

[email protected]
Long story short, our current tow plane solution is with a jump operation where we take tows in between their doing skydives. The jump operator apparently did not check on insurance last year when he agreed to do this for us and he just went ahead and starting towing us. He has now checked for this...

Lange Aviation story in Gliding International Jan-Feb 2015 issue by
Jonathan St. Cloud
Anyone seen the article in the recent Gliding International about Lange not being able to return a deposit or deliver the glider? Is this why the Quintus only has 14 builds? I did not see the article only the index of articles. I did see a youtube interview with Tilo who said they could not...

Volkslogger repair, share shipping from US to Germany by
[email protected]
My Volkslogger thinks it is 1995.
I was planning to send my volkslogger back to Germany for repair
with Air Avionics but the Shipping back is about 50 Euros.
They suggest sending multiple units at once to share the shipping costs.
Does anyone else want to ship a unit with me from US and split...

DPE for Initial CFIG? by
Terry Pitts
Friends,
Where are schools that have a readily available DPE for an initial CFIG?
I'm not looking for any feedback about the schools, just locations so I can start some research.
Thanks!

Winter soaring "escape plan" locations? by
Paul Villinski
If you were based in NYC, and wanted to leave a small RV and a DG-400 somewhere warm for the winter, traveling to it for a long weekend once each month, with wife and kindergartener in tow, where would that be? Seminole Lake is an obvious choice, but are there other soaring locations that are easy...

Combining vario and radio output into one speaker by
Paul B[_2_]
I am wondering if it is possible to combine the outputs of a vario and a radio and send it to one speaker. I did try to Google it, but I did not find a satisfactory answer.
Any ideas please?
Cheers

Power Flarms now VERY expensive to fix by
Bob T
With Williams no longer able to work on PowerFlarms, problems are VERY expensive to attend to. One has to ship their unit to their PF dealer, who ships it to Switzerland for work. Plus shipping back. Mine lost GPS ability, cost me a hair under $500 to get fixed and returned to me. Whew! ...

Looking at a couple of used gliders in my price range across the border in Canada. Does anybody have recent experience importing and re-registering a Canadian glider in the US? Logistics, cost, time, etc.
Thanks in advance

new wingtip design by
ND
interesting article about a potential winglet replacement for jets.
I personally think that winglets have more sex appeal though, especially maughmer's.
