Dittel FSG 71 M Help by
Nick Kennedy
Hi Gents
Can anyone give me some help advice with my radio please.
On the ground it transmits fine, but will not receive.
Once in the air, like on tow and the rest of the flight it is 5x5, both
transmitting and receiving. Crystal clear with huge range.
What is going on?

WTB: ASW-27 by
noel.wade
Hello All,
Been off RAS for awhile dealing with work stuff (instead of glider-flying, darnit). Now that we're entering the buying/selling season I am cranking up my efforts to acquire an ASW-27.
If you know of a good bird that's not being flown, please let me know!
If you have a '27 and need...

Speaking of Ridge - [US Mid-Atlantic Region] by
Papa3[_2_]
Looks like a front passes through Thursday into Friday with winds favorable for ridge in the Appalachians. However, the timing is slightly "off"; as of now it looks like it may clear too late to give us significant time on Thursday and winds may slacken by mid-afternoon on Friday. Haven't had...

New from LX Nav by
Dave Springford
The LX Nav team has been busy lately and created a couple of interesting new products.
The Nano III - basically the same size as the Nano with a 2" colour screen that can display task, waypoints (cup format) and airspace (cub format). A great back-up recorder and back-up navigation instrument for...

Instuctional flights and OLC by
[email protected]
Who should log the flight and claim the points for a student instructional flight? May both the student and the instructor claim the flight? If there is no specific rule for this, what are other clubs doing?
While the instructor is the PIC, do the FAR's matter in who gets to claim OLC points? Do...

Gelcoat care by
Nick Kennedy
What is the best way to prolong gelcoat life?
I have a friend that says that waxing, polishing is only good for the
pilot, does almost nothing for the gelcoat.
I really don't know much about this issue.
Would it make sense to cut a bit off like .002 every once in a while to
stop/prevent any...

Some gliders safer than others? by
Nicholas L
Are some glider designs much safer than others? Or do certain designs put their pilots at risk for certain types of injuries during a crash?
Looking at the Libelle with the bubble canopy it makes me wonder if the glider flipped on you during a bad landing or crash if the pilot would suffer head/...

OLC needs money, or is this just poor marketing? by
Romeozulu
Today on OLC there have been interesting comments from the OLC Team.
Basically OLC are complaining to all pilots for not supporting them and paying the 10 Euros to get a smiley

Ground Launch Weekend at Jean, NV by
Dan Marotta
Hey Guys,
My glider and trailer are in my front yard ready to head out to Jean but I'm
concerned about the weather. We had rain in the mountains east of
Albuquerque last night and snow in the high country.
How's the lake bed doing? There's nothing on your website.

US-glider guiders only: Article in last Soaring by

Did anybody else read the article in the October issue of Soaring 'My last dog-fight'? I must have missed the memo but it seems like the US-law enforcement agencies have declared open season on the GA or more specifically glider guiders. First the totally unwarranted arrest in SC and now this...
