Poor service and bad attitude from LXNAV by
Tim Taylor
In response to a request for a wiring diagram for a cable for the
LXNAV V7 to the Oudie to build cables that connect to my panel (pass
through connector on the panel), I got a very poor response and no
help (see below) from LXNAV. I have never seen a supplier in the
soaring field in twenty-five...

Battery plugs, etc. by
Bob Cook[_2_]
Anderson power poles do show an alternative.. soldering... for the
connection pins if you don't have the special (expensive) crimping tool.
I have used both soldering and crimping with great results.
Just about everything I own has a power pole connection, glider battery,
motorcycles, electric...

Looking for the 3 gull logo by
Pat Russell[_2_]
In the old days, the international symbol for our sport was a blue
medallion with three stylized white gulls. The medallion was adopted
by FAI for the gliding badges.
Each country, with the exception of Germany, customized the medallion
with its ICAO registration prefix at the top of the emblem. ...

Capacity flask tube length by
dbrunone
I'm considering relocating my 0.45L capacity flask (for the vario) from behind the instrument panel to elsewhere in the cockpit. I would have to use maybe 6 or 7 feet of tubing to do that though...by some quick calculations, the extra tubing will make the 0.45L flask effectively almost 0.50L. Would...

Winter Storage by
Mike McCarron[_2_]
I live in upstate NY and it gets quite cold here during the winter. In the
winter I have always stored my ASW-27 glider in my house and the trailer in
an unheated hanger. My trailer is a cobra with a fiberglass top. Am I
doing it any harm storing it in the unheated hanger? Would it do any...

Dollar value declared on glider bill-of-sale by
son_of_flubber
I'm buying a glider and the seller wants to declare the price paid as "$1000 and other good and valuable consideration". The actual sale price is $28,000. The seller wants to do this because when he bought the glider years ago he used the "$1000 and other good and valuable consideration" phrase...

CAI302 Push/Pull Arrows Missing by
Jeff Casto
My CAI302 was intermittently turning off in flight, so my sailplane partner
took it apart and found some loose connections. This fixed the problem, but
now the push/pull arrows are missing from the display. The audio works
fine. I'm sure this is a setting, but I can't find it. Can anyone...

Optimising regatta starts by
Simon Taylor[_2_]
As I understand it, a 'regatta start' is where the start line opens at
a specific time and pilots are effectively penalised for starting
before or after this instant. If this interpretation is right, what
methods are used by pilots to estimate their arrival time, and what
maneuvers are used to...

Jockey wheel for PIK-20 trailer by
lynn
My PIK-20 trailer jockey wheel needs replacement but cannot find any commercially available units which will fit. The shaft size needs to be 40mm to fit the built-in clamp system. I do not want to install a side mount clamped to the side as it will induce too much twist into the frame. Any working...

Spliting GPS out by
[email protected]
How do you "split" NEMA out data? Can it be split more than once without degrading the signal? What "electronics" are required to do this?
Example: take GPS from PowerFLARM to PNA and ACK E-04 ELT.
