thanks Soaring Magazine by
Brad[_2_]
I provided soaring magazine with dozens of high quality images shot
from the ground and from the air of the Tetra-15. First flight was 3
months ago and for some reason the editor has elected to entertain us
with pictures of Libelles and other European glass.
You would think after 10 years of...

Would you rather fly a Sailplane? by
Karen
Discussion from the paragliding forum. See:
http://www.paraglidingforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=p307763
Seems to be a large group of very talented soaring people that the SSA
and BGA doesn't reach well. Many of the boomers who started jumping
off hills in the 1970's are getting tired of climbing the...

Aero-retrieve WING-RUNNER by
JJ Sinclair[_2_]
Several pilots have asked me to build them a copy of my WING-RUNNER. It assembles by inserting 2 pins and slips over your wing tip, held in place with good old duct tape (provided). Keeps the wing tip about 6" off the runway/grass/gravel/short weeds! Collapses to 8" X 2" X 2" for easy storage
Put...

New EU regulations by
Ben[_4_]
I was planning on flying in a few places on an upcoming trip to
Europe. Now I am told there are new EASA regulations limiting PIC to
only those who have passed an EASA medical and hold an appropiate
EASA license.
Wow! Sure puts a knot in my plans. Is there no reciprocity with the
US?
Is there...

A Rough Day Towing by
Dan Marotta
Seems I'm towing more than soaring these days...
A couple of days ago, while rolling out on final at about 300' AGL, a strong
gust under the high wing upset the Pawnee. Fortunately (for me), I carry a
lot of energy around the final turn, and was able to recover and land
normally. I had to...

Power FLARM power by
Andy[_1_]
Can anyone comment of why Power FLARM transmit power appears to be
much less than the transmit power allowed by FCC for this class of
FHSS device? (ref test report on file with FCC)
Is this a limitation of the RF module that was selected? Was it to
increase battery life? Was it expected that...

Power FLARM deliveries? by
Andy[_1_]
I received a dealer's email notification that PowerFLARM is now
available for delivery. However, FCC site still shows that it has not
been granted FCC approval.
If sales of Power FLARM are going ahead without FCC approval why
didn't we just buy the European version?
Maybe I'm wrong about FCC...

Compare/Contrast: CG hook on aerotow vs. CG hook on winch by
son_of_flubber
I've been told (and witnessed) that aerotow on CG hook is initially difficult for someone who has trained for aerotow with a "nose hook" (aka hook-forward-of-CG). Suppose this CG-hook-newbie were to take winch tow training (with CG hook). Would the winch training reduce the initial difficulty of...
