Back-up IGC flight recorder by
Vsoars
I am looking for a back-up for my Volkslogger. I need something that
will be accepted for FAI records & badges.
Occasionally my Volkslogger gets a high number of invalid fixes.
(recently - 3, 23, 0 , 41, 3, 63) It has a new battery and I have
used this FL for over 10 years with no real problems....

Netto by
JJ Sinclair[_2_]
I tried to post a correction on my old Netto post, but the thing kept
giving me an *error* message.
Anyway, this is what I tried to say:
A real vario during cruise will show mostly DOWN with a 3 knot thermal
being displayed as going from DOWN 600 to DOWN 300.
A pure netto vario will show mostly...

Dittel VHF repair by
Steve Leonard[_2_]
Basic question, but have you made SURE it is not a dead microphone? I
have seen dynamic mic elements die, radio gets sent off and comes back
"nothing wrong here". Just want to make sure you have looked at all
possibilities before you send it off.

Sale - New Cambridge 302A by
Paul Remde
Hi,
The new Cambridge 302A I have in stock hasn't sold at $595, so I'm dropping
the price to $495. That is a good price for a fully IGC approved logger -
good for all badges and records and the OLC and contests. You can see links
to details below. It is large in size compared to current...

Gliding and migraines? by
K6Chris
Having suffered my first ever migraine last night and specifically the visual disturbance (aura) that came with it, I am keen to discover how gliders pilots who are prone to migraines cope? Although sufferers are allowed to drive and indeed fly, the advice for coping of 'pull over' seems less than...

Small glider logbook for Android phones by
Tiny Titles
Hey,
I have been working on a small logbook for glider pilots. It's very
basic but covers most of the requests from glider pilots. I found that
some of the existing apps in the category was way too complicated for
my taste. Therefore I started building this. It's called "Flight
Journal Lite" and it...

How LOW can you GO? by
Walt Connelly
Just picked up my parachute after a re-rig and jokingly asked if these things actually work. The folks at Strong Parachute told me about this accident a couple of weeks ago in England. Looks like this guy was pretty low when he decided to get out. Probably had a full open canopy below 100 feet...

XCSoar - Portrait / Landscape by
Peter F[_2_]
Hi Folks,
Anyone know whether it is possible to change from Landscape to Portrait (or
VV) when running XCSoar?
I am thinking of installing on a PNA, but the PNA layout is Landscape & I
would prefer it in Portrait mode.
If it is possible then where in the config is the setting?

In April, it was mentioned on this group that:

for PC or an upgrade in the last year. "
I purchased version 3 last winter so i downloaded version 4. I thought
I put in my name and registration key but today when opening...

About the only 'good' thing associated with having recent/multiple
sailplane-based fatalities involving premature releases from tow *might* be
that it tends to: 1) focus one's thought process(es), and 2) might also
*possibly* serve as a mental door opener to 'learning something new,' or...
