Schleicher wing tanks by
Andy[_1_]
Are the wing ballast tanks of the 27B, 28, and 29, fabricated as
complete assemblies separate from the wing skins, or do the wing skins
form the tanks walls?
Comment from anyone that has seen the wings being built, or has seen
one opened after build, appreciated.
thanks
Andy

Sully returns to the Air Force Academy by
Micki
those of you that fly competition in Region 9, should recognize the
quotes from the cadets at the end of the story (competitors we have
seen and met at glider contests) and the Duo is one that is flown
every year.....Good to see Capt. Sullenberger back at the academy and
talking to the "future"...

SN-10 wind problem by
GARY BOGGS
My Ilec normaly does a great job calculating the wind while ridge
soaring here in Hood River, Oregon, but for the last few flights it
has not been giving me the correct wind, even with lots of circling.
It was off about 45 degrees all day yesterday. I rebooted it before
the flight but that didn't...

Last Wednesday, our favorite Airbus pilot visited his old school.

tube and static port. The te tube is split just behind the cockpit as
recommended. The static and pitot are split or "t'd" behind the
instrument panel.
When I...

Winch Signals by
Nyal Williams[_2_]
Our club has yet to try winching, though a half-dozen members have
experienced it elsewhere sometime across the last fifty years.
Reading Piggot, I discover the command "All Out" for the beginning of
the launch. Is this the customary command in other places besides
England? Why this? What does...
