Hi all, a new experimental version of XCSoar for PDA/PNA and PC is available
for free at www.bware.it/xcsoar . This version installs on the SD card, and requires no activesync or anything else: all configuration files resides on the external memory. Thus it survives resets, and it will always work. Among many other new things, BestAlternate infobox will constantly search the best landing point automatically; two "Alternates" infoboxes to keep an eye on other airports. And the "VisualGlide" facility , which is something new as far as I know: you see directly on the map how much height you are going to loose going somewhere, with your current glide efficiency. This is a release candidate which will be later integrated in the main www.xcsoar.org . It's free, so you may give it a try. More and more people are adopting this software. Paul |
