UPDATE on "is it ever just plug and play?" by
John Bojack[_2_]
And the answer is..............................NO!
Due to time constraints caused by the forces of nature conspiring to occupy
all my free time (things like work, etc....) I showed up at the Union Pier
Terminal in Charleston all happy and with visions of LS-10's dancing in my
head.
That all...

Wendezeiger needle/ball repair by
Brad[_2_]
I have a Wendezeiger needle/ball gyro that does not work anymore. I am
wondering if there might be a repair station that still works on these
instruments. It is quite old, it came out of my Austria I bought
several years ago.
Thanks,
Brad

DG news letter, Winter maintenance
If you don't specifically ask, the inspector doing the annual will
probably not do a complete lubrication of all bearings. It really
doesn't matter if a particular bearing is lubricated only every other or
even third year but if a control system doesn't get...

Slingsby Skylarks.... by
Nyal Williams[_2_]
Aw, you guys are way too modern for me; what I need, in addition to wood,
is wings covered with chicken wire and chicken feathers and a steam engine
to make them flap up and down.

Beginner, Parachutes? by
vic20owner
Dumb beginner question follows:
I am just starting out flying gliders.... Here in the USA it seems
nobody wears a parachute unless they are contest flying or doing
aerobatics. However, I generally do like knowing that I have a backup
plan and a parachute seems reasonable. I suppose a history...

Question on FAA knowledge test endorsements. by
Jim Logajan
Simple question (for everyone but me!):
Is the CFI endorsement to take a private pilot test for a specific category
(e.g. airplane, rotorcraft, glider) or a category and class (e.g. airplane,
single engine land) or some other classsification (e.g. fixed-wing), or not

Ventus 2cx brake by
BravoCharlie
Hi Pilots,
I have a V2cxT that has the standard S-H disc brake that no longer
works very well. I have been through the obvious fixes; pads, new
fluid, bleed, etc. and haven't been able to bring it back up to
original performance which was adequate but not stellar.
I know a number of pilots have...

Canadian Pilot wants U.S. Certificate by
[email protected]
Hi Guys,
Hopefully, you can help me get this figured out. I'm going on a trip
to Florida next summer, and I'd like to fly a glider while I'm there
(I kept seeing gorgeous Cu's from Mickey-Mouse-Land). I figured I
would get checked out in a Grob 103 and then go have some fun in a
Grob 102 or...
