Survival Kits by ContestID67
I am a big believer in having some form of survival kit in my glider. Even in the "wilds" of the midwest I can get stuck outside for a while before being "rescued". I am always on the lookout for items to add to my kit which I have built up over time. Whistles, fire starters, signal mirrors,...

Looking for info on previous owner of a glider...(James Lovell) by [email protected]
Hi all, I just agreed to purchase an LS1f. As I was looking through the aircraft log, I noticed in the late 70's to early 80's, this ship was owned by a James Lovell in Houston, Texas. Anyone have any info as to whether this could be James Lovell, the astronaut. Are there any Texans out there that...

Glider definition (span^2/weight) by Bob C
A while back I read an FAA definition of a glider (as opposed to an airplane). I think it was an FAA document that referenced JAR 22. One of the criteria was a span squared over weight number (S^2/W). I can't find this document. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Bob C.
