Survival Kits by
ContestID67
I am a big believer in having some form of survival kit in my glider.
Even in the "wilds" of the midwest I can get stuck outside for a while
before being "rescued". I am always on the lookout for items to add
to my kit which I have built up over time. Whistles, fire starters,
signal mirrors,...

April 16, 2007 - 11:55PM
For 14 years, aircraft have taken off and landed just to the east of
Williams, all without a sound. But a developer's plan for 900 houses
off Husted Road has the owner of a local glider airstrip...

OLC posting of EW Model D files by
Wayne Paul
The time has arrived to start posting flights.
I am using SeeYou version 3.7 to download EW files from my Model D and
convert them to IGC format.
My attempts to post an April 20 flight have all failed to validated. The
flight is scored; however, there is an error message that states "Security...

Our DG-1000 at Southern Cross Gliding Club (Camden, NSW, Australia)

Glider definition (span^2/weight) by
Bob C
A while back I read an FAA definition of a glider (as
opposed to an airplane). I think it was an FAA document
that referenced JAR 22. One of the criteria was a
span squared over weight number (S^2/W). I can't find
this document. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

FS: Gap Tape by
TJ[_1_]
1 inch wide gap tape.
Spring special 30 rolls for $40 post paid in the USA.
(That works out to $1 a roll after I pay the postage.)
Not as good as the $6 a roll tape, but very useable.

Ken Kochanski (KK)
A couple of damp glider pilots (bad wx in the ne usa) were having a
discussion over hot americanos this morning.
Do static/probe based TE systems actually measure TE? ... or are they
simply a mechanism to get us an approximation of TE.
To measure TE, don't you need a system that can...
