Someone wanting to use our plane for thier commercial multi ticket by
Scott D.
My boss, who I fly for and am office manager for, personally ownes a
Seneca II. He had someone come up to him and asked him if he could
use the plane to get his commercial multi since there was no other
multi in the immediate area to do this in. I am also an MEI so my

Buying into existing partnership? by
Chris
Gang,
I am planning to buy into an existing partnership. Should I be less
vigilant during prebuy than when buing a plane by myself? - maybe no,
but I would like to listen to some arguments.
Thanks
Chris

camcorder recording Cessna intercom audio question by
Marty from Sunny Florida
Help!
I tried recording the Nav/Com audio to my Sony camcorder in a c172. The gain
is so high it just sounds like saturated noise. I basically wired from the
co-pilot's headset jack a cable to the sony 'mic in' jack. Has anyone here
successfully recorded a flight with clean audio, and if so, how...

include the 6 rechargable AA batteries that I bought for it (which are not
included with the GPS from the factory). Payment can be made by...

Door seal, inflateable or no? by
Jim Burns
Our Aztec's door seal needs replacing. I'm wondering how many people go the
inflatable route and what their experience has been. Would you do it again?
Does it block noise and air better than the standard seal? Does it push the
door away from the frame or cause too much pressure against the...

Alternator field cycling & alternator damage by
Nathan Young
Scenarios:
#1. Most planes have an over-voltage protection that opens the
circuit to the alternator field windings. Let's say that while the
alternator is delivering about 30amps (lights, avionics, pitot heat,
etc) - the OVR gets tripped, causing the alternator field to be
dropped immediately to...

OOPS! Got contact cement on the windshield by
Mike Rapoport
I managed to get some 1300L contact cement on the windshield of my Helio
Courier while reattaching the vinyl to the glareshield. Does anyone know if
I can use "adhesive remover" on an acrylic windshield without causing
crazing? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

New artificial horizon - Sigmatek or R.C. Allen? by
David Herman
My plane's artificial horizon - which was overhauled just a few months ago
at a well-known shop - has headed south again. Since it's got a lot of
hours on it now (and at least one overhaul, maybe more), I suspect it may be
beyond saving and I could be looking at getting a new one. If I do need...

Mogas and microbial growth by
Economic Girly Man
Folks,
I have a C-182 with an auto-fuel STC, which I've been operating on Mogas
(along with an occasional fill of 100LL) for several years. Mogas being
unavailable at my home airport, I use a pair of 6 gallon Gerry cans
(plastic) to transport the fuel from a local gas station to...

Preheat by
PaulaJay1
Winter is comming to Ohio ( thou the 60 deg day today disagrees) and the
subject of engine preheat arrises. I have a Tannis for the cylinders and a pad
to heat the oil. I can call the FBO and have them plug it in an hour before I
arrive and the engine is, at least, not cold to the touch. Still...

Garmin GNC 250XL by
Jay Honeck
Anyone got one of these units?
http://www.garmin.com/products/gnc250xl/
It seems to combine two very useful things (a VFR moving map GPS and a Com
radio) into one compact unit.

Buy a damaged airplane by
[email protected]
Almost bought an airplane. Talked to the guy over the phone. He's
brokering it for someone else. Asked him about damage history. No damage
history, he said.
Now, one thing I always do before I go to see an airplane is I check the
NTSB database. Actually, I do this before I call the owner so I...

Aztec Flap Tube AD and related Service Bulletin by

Can anyone point me to a link for Piper Service Bulletin 1051B? It is
what the Aztec falp tube AD refers to for compliance (2003-09-18?). I
have not been able to find it on-line. I'm trying to help someone
figure out the best way to comply, but if I can't read it I can't
understand what is...

C182 - Intermittent Alternator by

I have a 1978 C182 Q. I recently experienced my alternator turning off and the
high voltage light coming on. I cycled the switch (1/2 master) and got it to
reset every time, however, the interval between episodes varied. I had the
Voltage Regulator and the Alternator replaced (new) and flew a...

So is this the type that is externally mounted, and driven by a belt?

Not sure what you mean by this. Mine is a cylinder shape with a shuttle inside.
It is charged with nitrogen. When the engine is running the oil is forced (3
quarts) into the accumulator until equilibrium is...
