Club Sailplane Real-Time Tracking: PowerFlarm, ADSB-IN, ADAB-OUT or other? by
Jeff[_12_]
Our club is considering equipping our ships, and the ground-based operations folks, with a real-time tracking technology, so that we on the ground will be aware of club sailplanes locations and status, in order that we can better anticipate and prepare for arrivals, and schedule launches. This...

SZD 55 water dump valve sticking. by
Mark B[_2_]
One of the water dump valves in my 55 has become so stiff that it is virtually impossible to move. The manual has no procedure for the removal of the offending valve. Has anybody had to remove the dump valves on their 55 and if so how did you do it.
Regards Mark B.

Looking for Soaring Meteorology Textbook by
[email protected]
Four decades ago when I was getting my U. S. glider pilots license the
textbook we used had a very good discussion of convection. This included
stable and unstable air conditions, the temperature gradients needed
to sustain convection, and how, over the course of a sunny day, convective
currents...

Wortmann vs Eppler by
[email protected]
Hi, first time caller here, I note the first flight of the Pik-20 was in Oct-73, the Mosquito and Mini Nimbus in Sep 76. Grob came out with their Speed Astir in Apr 78. All competed in the 15 metre class. One major difference between them was the first 3 had the FX67k170/150 as a wing airfoil,...

Hi Gary,
I think your email has been compromised.Â* Today I received in my spam
folder a message purported to be from you at aerospace-welding.com and
some other odd email address with an attached invoice.doc file.Â* I
deleted it without opening since we've not done business together.

ADS-B or just Mode S for class E airspace? by
[email protected]
Hi all,
Sorry to start yet another ADS-B discussion, but I'm wondering about the value of it to a glider that doesn't fly in airspace that requires it. I have a Mode S transponder, so I believe I will continue to be 'visible' to both ATC and TCAS systems. (I am flying through some areas that are...

Trailer Covers-will that eliminate condensation inside ? by
[email protected]
I saw a Trailer cover offered. Seems to cover quite nicely a standard Cobra trailer. Color is white.
I wonder if this a solution to reduce or eliminate formation of condensation inside the trailer walls, especially metal ones.
I would assume that since the top and side walls are somewhat insulated...

LS 8A Aileron Removal by

According to the LS 8 Manual to remove the ailerons you loosen the 10mm nut on the fixed bearing #3. I can't see any way to get a wrench, socket into the nut. Is there a special tool required?

Any recommendations for where to get/what computer to get that would run Condor 2 well. Also thinking of trying Oculus Rift with it at some point. Don't want to spend a whole lot of money on this though. Thanks.
