Nephi Contests - Items to Bring? by
Paul Remde
Hi,
I am very excited to be leaving early on Friday, June 15th to drive to Nephi, Utah for the U.S. Sports Class soaring contest.
We have room in the minivan to bring items to customers who pre-order. I do not plan to bring much inventory (perhaps some Bowlus tape and 1 or 2 LXNAV Nano4, SPOT...

Feeding Two Devices from PowerFLARM by
[email protected]
Yeah, I know this has been discussed. I've researched it. But I can't find this specific question answered.
I want to connect my PowerFLARM Portable to my LX FLARMView AND to my Kobo running TopHat. I don't think I need or can use a K6 Mux box: I'm not combining multiple inputs into a common...

Need a trailer by
[email protected]
Semi's in the rear view mirror look bigger than glider trailers, especially when approaching fast and sliding sideways.
Everybody's ok, but unfortunately I need a trailer, rudder, and RV.
Anybody know of a 15M Cobra or similar trailer available, hopefully in the SE?
Glider is a Ventus B with 15...

Intro Presentation for non-soaring audience by
Kemp[_2_]
Can any one point me to a 15 slide or so presentation (any format) for a grade school audience? There seems to be nothing on the web for such.
Thanks in advance. Kemp

A rare comfort for those of us worried about the effects of ageing on the grey matter ;)

refilling O2 bottles on the road. by
kimobear
When traveling with a motor glider out west ( USA), what do people do, when trying to get their O2 bottles refilled?
I noticed in the notes on airport services available at smaller airport, that most have no O2 refilling services available.
Carrying a full size tank in car to fill from is not an...

Dittel FSG71 Radio / Squelch Questions by
Bastoune
All,
My radio (Dittel FSG 71) Squelch seems to be a bit sensitive (but by design, cannot be adjusted by the pilot). In my case, when flying, the squelch is a bit sensitive and the “white noise” of the radio comes on at times, even when there are no communications received. I can always reset the...

WaltWX[_2_]
Anyone have an SN10B Repeater for sale... or loan just for the 2018 soaring season? Would help us on in our Duo Discus syndicate. We're using it for advanced XC training.
Thanks... Walter Rogers "WX"

Sebastiaan van buiten
Hi,as addicted RC model pilot I want to build a scalemodel of the Alsema Sagitta in both the 'standard' and the only worldwide 17M version.

Color Platforms for Top Hat/XCSoar by
[email protected]
What color devices are pilots using for Top Hat/XCSoar? I'm running Top Hat on a Kobo Glo (large eink gray scale--great readability) and a Dell Streak 5 (smaller screen, color, acceptable readability). If the Dell were a little brighter and larger, it would be perfect.
Options seem to range from...

Laister LP-49 TE and polar info by
Jim Meade
I have a Laister LP-49 and am looking for a polar graph for it. I
would also like to talk to anyone who has added a total energy probe
to the vario on this glider. It has metal flight surfaces and a
plastic body with solid bulkheads. Might be a trick to plumb the line
from the vertical stab.

Club Procedures for Late Day XC Flights by
Roy B.
Friends:
I am trying to learn more about how different clubs with active XC pilots flying privately owned gliders handle the problem of determining "Is everybody back safely?" - before everybody at the airport goes home.
In my club we frequently shut down training operations around 5:00 pm or so...

Average time to solo a student by
[email protected]
I'm a very experienced power pilot CFI & have soloed hundreds of airplane student pilots over the years. That said, I'm not as experienced as a CFIG.
I soloed a new student this weekend. He flew three solo flights & did a spectacular job. He has no former flying experience so he wasn't the...

LXNAV Experience by

One week ago today I sent in a variometer to get a pressure sensor repaired. Today got notification of delivery two days from now. Soaring season saved.
You can't beat that kind of service. Uros and his crew are stand up guys.
No, I don't own stock in LXNAV, nor does any relation of mine work...

Is anyone traveling from Elmira (K&L soaring) to Oklahoma or close, maybe towing a glider that might be willing to also haul a crated 2-33 front canopy this summer?
