I have been a client for 5 years now, this is the first time it has failed ... but my emails to support are never answered.

Just wondering how many of us have flown at Bicester and when.
I flew at Bicester during my service and I had a bad accident with a winch cable. Thanks to an American Airman I am here to tell the tale.

Pellet variometer by

You can make one easily using a low-flow pellet rotameter -- lots are commercially available.
If you just want up you only need one.

Polar diagrams and L/D by
Jim[_33_]
I sure need help here.
As far as I understand polar diagrams the airspeed axis is for indicated airspeed, not true airspeed. This certainly makes sense.
BUT, I have also come to understand that an estimate of L/D for a given airspeed can be obtained by dividing a given airspeed on the polar...

Discus b versus Discus CS by
[email protected]
I've read that the Discus b and Discus CS are "identical" except that the CS is manufactured under license in Czech Republic. Both are, of course, available in the used-glider-market. Are there any differences in reliability, manufacturing qualty, etc that would favor one over the other?

ASW 19 instrument panel by

I am looking pretty seriously at buying 1/2 of an ASW 19. The other partner thinks there is a mod to move the instrument panel to the canopy. I am not that excited about shimmying my legs under it. Has anyone done this? If so what’s the cost of the parts and how much time to...

trailer frame by
Colin Roney
I am considering modifying my glider trailer to incorporate
an extended fuselage support frame to permit rigging on
the lines of the modern lift-top trailers.
The frame/channelling needs to be about 2m long with a
section of about 60 x 50mm with tapered sides. Has
anyone had a go at making...
