Oxygen Generators by
JohnDeRosa
Has anyone investigated the use of an oxygen generator rather than carrying an O2 cylinder?
According to this study from sea level up to 18,000 it seems to work. http://oai.dtic.mil/oai/oai?verb=getRecord&metadataPrefix=html&identifier=ADA371747

Tall man trainer by
Frank Whiteley
Got a call today as a referral from the SSA office. What trainer is suitable for a 6'6" long torso man? He visited Blue Ridge Soaring Society and tried to fit in both a K-21 and an L-23 to no avail. I have no experience with a Puchacz or DG-500/1000 series. I expect he could fit in a 2-32, if...

Trouble with MicrovarioPro Companion software by
David Cole - Oregon
Is anyone besides me having trouble with MicrovarioPro Companion software? The flight recordings show max altitudes of only 20 to 40 feet. Are my settings wrong or is it the software or the device.
By the way for a cheap ($150) audio vario the MicrovarioPro performs great in the air though it...

Tony[_5_]
I'm in Moriarty flying a Sparrowhawk and am having trouble with me portable. It seems yo be transmitting fine but the only time I've received Farm targets is when I'm on the grid. It is receiving transponder and ADSB traffic just fine.
You may recall that I recently replaced as broken antenna....

Dittel FSG 2T Radio Repair by
[email protected]
I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have a Dittel FSG 2T radio that needs a new display.
The only repairman I've been told is Anton Lang of Lang Funktechnik.
Does anyone on this forum know how I might reach Mr Lang or anyone else who can do repairs on Dittel radios? I tried Mr Lang's e-mail...

inReach website not updating track automatically by
Eric Greenwell[_4_]
I flew Monday and Wednesday this week. Both times, my wife reported the
flight track on the inReach website did not update automatically;
instead, she had to refresh the page each time. It added each point
automatically for my previous flights in August, which I believe is
expected...

Crouch Strap story by
Ed Byars
I sent the following to our magazine nine months ago and didn't receive an
acknowledgement or receipt. I guess it was not suitable for them so I
thought I would share it with ras to maybe provoke some safety discussion.

RESCED by Brian Brown by
JJ Sinclair[_2_]
I just read two great accounts of survival and rescue, Frank (TA) accident review on Soaring Café and a book titled "Rescued", by Brian Brown available at Amazon.com. Frank told how he was able to get coordinates from his SPOT device and Brian told how rescuers "pinged" his cell number and got...

Uncle Fuzzies take on Self Launchers by
Uncle Fuzzy[_2_]
My take on self-launchers launchers
… is really pretty simple. A self launcher means you can launch whether there’s a tow plane or not. Period.
For me, that would mean I could launch from Jean, land somewhere, make camp (I love ‘ramp camping’), and launch the next day and fly back (conditions,...

"Bad" CAI302 Display by
Dan Marotta
Well, I seem to have one. The polarization looks like it's about 45 degrees
off horizontal and, since I bought Eagle Eyes sunglasses specifically for
soaring, I'm disappointed that I can't see the 302 with the glasses on.
So I hit on a crazy scheme... Since Cambridge is no longer with us, I'm...
