Becker vs Microair by
Dixie Sierra

narrowed things down to Becker vs Microair (I've ruled out Walter
Dittel on...

LS6-b tail tank leak fix by
kirk.stant
Anyone have experience fixing a leaking LS6-b tail ballast tank?
After a few seasons of non-use ( Eastern US dry contests, so dry
practice...), I found that I now have a very leaky tail (the gliders',
dammit!)
Is it possible to get the tank out (from the top, perhaps) without
major surgery?

News flash: pilots are "allowed" to use supplemental oxygen by
VARR
Glad that was cleared up.
Can anyone enlighten us as to why any FAI member pilot, or the FAI
itself, would care about the non-binding opinion from yet-another
alphabetism (WADA)?
The appropriately titled article from ssa.org follows...

mid air at uvalde by
Robert Carl
just to set the record straight my glider received minimal damage and has
been repaired and ready to fly. The winglet was not torn off and I did
return to Uvalde airport. Stressful yes, and my heart goes out to Mike.
I visited him Sunday at the hospital and he was in fine spirits and he
truly...

Dominant EU types. by
Bruce
Interesting if somewhat disappointing to see the Attie Jonker and the JS1 so far down the field in Lusse.
The ASG29 and Ventus 2s certainly dominated in Germany.
Good to see the LS10 doing well in contests too. Competition by the manufacturers is such a good thing. We now have at
least five...

SparrowHawk Test Flight Facts by
Bill Thar
David Lawrence's article in the August issue of Soaring magazine "Lord if
You're Up There." teaches us a lesson about the need to be thorough and
prepared whenever we fly. The accident is also a reminder of what can happen
when an aircraft is flown faster than it is designed to fly. But there...

FLARM & Transponders in France by
Fox Two
Bonjour & Hello!
A few quick questions about FLARM and transponders in France:
1.) Is FLARM required?
2.) When/where are transponders required?
3.) Are Mode-C transponders still legal in France, or are they all
Mode-S now?

Rudder from a different Mudder by
Brad[_2_]
I finally finished the rudder for the HP-24 today. It weighs without
mass balance 5 pounds. Wondering if any folks out there know what
there rudder might weigh, with or without mass balance. I am curious
where on the curve I am with the one I designed and built. I should
say, this has an antenna...
