Dittel FSG 60M available for sale by
SF
I have a Dittel FSG 60M radio available for sale, make an offer. The
radio was repaired last September and it worked without a problem
until Capt. Andy changed the task in the air at Cordele. It seems to
receive the beginning and the end of transmissions from the CD while
leaving out the middle...

Cobra trailer wingtip retainer dowel - lost detent pin by
Frank[_1_]
Hi,
I have somehow managed to lose the small spring-loaded pin that locks
the black plastic wingtip retainer dowel into the end of the wing of
my Ventus 2bx. Anyone know where I can get a replacement spring & pin
assembly (or the entire plastic dowel)? Maybe the McMaster-Carr...

Aerotow Fuel Costs & Winch Launching by
Derek Copeland[_2_]
My UK gliding club has just been forced to increase the cost of 2000ft
aerotows from £25 to £29 (about $58), just due to the spiralling price of
fuel.
A good case for more winch launching perhaps!

Winch launch clinic at Faribault, Minnesota by
Bill Daniels
Frank Whiteley and I spent the first three days of this week training the
folks at Cross Country Soaring (
http://www.crosscountrysoaring.com/index.html ) to use their new winch.
Frank trained the winch drivers and I trained pilots.
I lost track of the number of launches but it was probably...

ACCESS GRANTED! by
GARY BOGGS
The Port of Hood River and the FBO at 4S2 tried to force me out, but I
WON!
I had to get a lawyer involved, and it took 6 weeks, but we out lasted
them, and finally got them to understand that I wasn't going away.
When we notified them that every email that they wrote, and every
email they...

Cherokee out and about by
[email protected]
With excellent soaring conditions forecast for today, I decided to
take the Cherokee on a trip. Sure wouldve been nice to put more miles
on, but I fell out of booming skies after about an hour and a half
flight. Made it about 50 nautical miles to a really nice field. Here
is the report copied...

[US] Standard Class Nationals update from Cordele for Thursday by
Papa3
The 2008 Standard Class Nationals ended with a whimper today.
Despite good air in the task area, upper level clouds began to clamp
down heating during the morning. By noon, there was a thickening
cirrus deck, though we could see vultures and hawks beginning to
thermal.
The CD sent up Markus...

Mylar seals for elevator by
[email protected]
Hey guys, what's your opinion on the use of mylar seals at the
horizontal stab/elevator gap? Specifically for LS ships. Do people opt
not to use them for fear of "lifting" tape or mylar and causing
elevator effectiveness issues? Losing elevator effectiveness is
certainly a valid concern, but does...

Cordele by
Ed Byars
Could someone give us a clue as to what is happening at the Standard Class
Nationals? Here it is the last day of the contest. The reporting and
scoring seem non-existent.
Thanks,

[US] Standard Class Update from Cordele Day 6 by
Papa3
Well, it took a lot of waiting on the grid, but we eventually got a
contest day in on Wednesday.
Over night, a line of extremely strong thunderstorms dumped more than
an inch of rain on Cordele and the surrounding area. We awoke to find
standing water and mud on the airport, but there was blue...
