Barely reach rudder pedals by
keelstrake
Hi,
I'm vertically challenged, especially my legs. When I am seated as
far forward as possible in my Cirrus, I'm touching the rudder pedals
with the tips of my toes, with the pedals adjusted to the full back
position.
Could people who have experience with this problem please share how
they...

CFI Lesson Plan Format Question by
Slick
I've come to something I can't find definite regulations for. Does a lesson
plan have to be in a certain format? I have a couple of examples of formats
but I don't know which one to use. I have a format I would like to use. This
is all for the CFI-G check ride and I know I wont use them much...

GP finishes by
bagmaker
After reading an article in Kiwi Gliding by Ben Flewett regarding the CAA and their ruling on finish heights, the whole "gladiators of the sky" DVD has to be looked at again, with a different understanding of the rules, and how NOT to break them!
Would Mr Flewett please ( I know he is a RAS poster)...

Sports Class Nats Day 5 Underway by
Susan
Hi all,
My sources have told me that today's task at Mifflin is a 4 hour TAT:
Bloomsburg, Nisbet Bridge, Mifflintown, Tall Pines, all with 15 mile
circles. The nominal distance is 220 miles. At grid time it was blue,
but with an immature golden eagle circling overhead, pilots were
optimistic about...

Becker AR-3201 radio owners: check your batteries by
sssarah
Hi group,
Just a note to remind owners of older Becker AR3201 radios to check your internal nicad button cell batteries. These tend to leak after a few years, and if left too long will destroy your PC board ending the useful life of a pretty good radio!
I found this green-crystal crud beginning...

mifflin sports class day 3 by
BB
Mifflin day 3.
It was another beautiful, and of course very interesting, day at the
sports class nationals. We grid early, on the fear of strong
crosswinds. They don't materialize, so we launch into ridge lift at
11:30. The sky is overcast, but is forecast to break up and maybe even
go blue by the...

SeeYou 3D and Google Earth by
[email protected]
Have any of you been able to use Google Earth 3D maps with SeeYou
for 3D representations of flights. I think SeeYou 3D is excellent in
all respects except for the detail of their 3D maps. Google Earth is at
least a couple of magnitudes better in detail. With a fast computer, a
good video card and...

WOW! by
Mitch
Check out this weekend in Moriarty, New Mexico on the OLC! Our "Good"
month is just coming up, too!
www.soarmoriatry.com
Daan Pare showed up four weeks ago with the intention of staying only a
few days. Four weeks later, and averaging around 800 K per flight he
has not left yet!

Hi,
Are there any known modifications for Grob Speed Astir?
Like wings extentions or special added parts.
If so, what can you tell about it?

Sports Class Nats Day 3 Underway by
[email protected]
I just heard from Tim (EY) that the launch was underway at Mifflin
(about 11:30 Eastern time.) I wasn't where I could write the task down,
so all I can report is that the task is a 4 hour MAT with a first
turnpoint of Lockhaven and then a bunch of other places, with Mifflin
as the as last assigned...

Discus 2b polar data needed by
nyffeler
To feed a Zander SR940 with the correct polar data for a Discus 2b I need the
following parameters:
for wing loading of 32 kp/m²
best L/D @ speed (kmh)
speed (kmh) @ sink rate of 2.0 m/s
Can someone of you give me this data, or has polar from which I can calculate
them?
