Newest Sailplane in the world on display at the 2016 SSA convention by SF
The statement that the Ventus 3 would be at the Greenville convention is completely my responsibility. At the time I made it I thought that it was true. As soon as I was made aware that it was not true, I pointed RAS readers to a list of what was actually going to be at the show, on Facebook. ...

Returning to soaring after long time away...best BFR/refresher study material? by Mark Rose
Hello, I was last an active (licensed) glider pilot 15 years ago at White Sands Soaring Association in Alamogordo NM. Due to a busy military career, I put soaring on hold--but no more! I recently retired from the military and moved to Tucson AZ. Today, I just drove back from El Tiro gliderport...

Advanced Soaring Made Easy Edition 4 by [email protected]
I'm the Canadian dealer for this very good gliding book, and I did the design and layout for the author, Bernard Eckey. It has 432 pages, 187 illustrations and 176 photographs, and has been updated and extended with new topics (for example, have you ever heard of climbing in an atmospheric...

Pins for L33 Solo by [email protected]
Hi, Misplaced wing pins and tail pin for L33 Solo (got distracted). Waiting 10 month for delivery from Europe. Just wandering if there is any available on the open market. Willing to pay. If you have some pin or know of a glider that is not flyable, I would be interested. Thanks, Jerry

Audio recording software? by [email protected]
I have an old spare radio and I was wondering if anyone knew of any PC or Mac based recording software that would only record when the radio received a transmission. I'd like to end up with a relatively short recording which is a summary of the radio traffic for the day. Thanks, Mark

Pawnee PA25 Lead (Pb) contamination by [email protected]
Has anyone ever dealt with lead (Pb) issues in the cockpit of a Pawnee? I recently did a 3M lead test on the surfaces in the cockpit and found high lead readings. I suspect it is related to 100LL fumes coming into the cockpit around the floor in fore of the rudder pedals.

Power-off stall recovery in Flight Training magazine by son_of_flubber
AOPA sends me Flight Training magazine every month and they discuss 'power off stall recovery' on page 42 of the current issue. As a power-off-at-all-times pilot, I don't get it. I assume that the purpose of practicing power-off stalls is to practice for the scenario that the engine quits...

LX20 security code-solved by Ken Ward
I have a LX20 which produced the "invalid security code" after I opened it to replace the very old watch battery. Filser uses a micro switch to detect case opening, in this product. Paul Remde at Cumulus Soaring promptly responded to my request for help, and procured the program from Filser to...

Naresh & Diana II by Bubba
Let's get off this! With a sport in declining numbers, this forum topic has turned into a steaming pile and is a despicable representation of our sport and it's pilots. It appears that Naresh is the pivot man in a circle jerk. Move on!
