Towing w LSA (Light Sport Aircraft) by
Jeffrey Banks
Towing w LSA (FAA defined Light Sport Aircraft)?
Is anyone doing this?
Without a horsepower limit for Light Sport Aircraft it seems that a
small airframe and a big engine might be an ideal towplane.
The GW limit of 1320 lbs (599kg) and max cruise speed of 120knots do
not seem restrictive for...

2018 - AN EXCITING YEAR by
[email protected]
You may not be aware of the new sailplanes being publicly released this year.
1. From Poland comes the news release of the Diana 3. It is an 18 metre ship with a conventional spar - unlike the Diana 2 which is sparless. The 'Three' is a real 'looker.'
2. The new Diana 2 has been worked on and...

Site ideas for a big Western US soaring trip next season by
James Hogue
So, it is raining outside and I haven't been soaring in a long time, so naturally I am thinking about soaring next season.... I'll bet I am not the only one.
The big plan is a soaring safari to the Western US next season. I may be able to take as long as 2+ months. I am looking for ideas for...

2 recent incidents by
Ramy
Two recent incidents which all sounds too familiar and we can all
learn from them:
1 - Another spoilers out/rudder waggle resulting in premature release
- How many more of those we need till we conclude that the rudder
waggle does NOT work? What happened to radio...

Advice on H301 Libelle 17m by
ruediger
As my Astir CS77 is totally damaged (The pilot, a friend of mine is
ok, but the glider can't be repaired) i am looking for a "new" glider.
I have the chance to buy a Libelle H301 17m. As I know that several
H301 are flown in the US, i hope to get some advice from ras.
For those who wonder: I can't...

Cambridge GPS-Nav Model 20 by

What type of battery is inside the Model 20. I need to change mine
and I understand it is behind the antenna and can be replaced without
breaking the recorder seal.
Thanks,
Fred

trailer wheels won't turn by
chris
I have an older Komet trailer with newer axel. I parked the trailer
about 2 months ago and it was working fine at the time. Now the
wheels are immobile. I even tried to pull it with my car and the
wheels just dragged across the pavement.
In the dark of night I could not figure out if somehow...

WinPilot-compatible GPS devices by
Ted Wagner
Can anyone familiar with the WinPilot product tell me whether my DeLorme
Earthmate GPS Receiver (with DB-15 serial interface) will work with it?
If not, what advice would you offer regarding iPac (or other pocket PC)
models, and portable GPS devices to use with WinPilot?

Soaring magazine by
JJ Sinclair
For the first time in 20 years, I sat down and read Soaring magazine, cover to
cover. Good stuff in there, all interesting. The 2 accident write-ups were hard
hitting, factual information that just might prevent a similar occurance.
George Thelen described an ASW-20 that hit the trees, I believe...

U.S. Low Level aerobatic waivers by
Soarin Again
Could someone direct me to the site that gives the
specifics on getting a low level aerobatic waiver valid
for carrying passengers? So far I have been unable
to find this data on the net and I have done a pretty
good search on the IAC and NAA sites.
