Experimental Letter by
[email protected]
My Ventus 2cxM has been flying in the Experimental Category since new (2003), and each year I've been faithfully updating the Experimental Letter (I just change the date) and mailing it to my FSDO. I've been told that the wording of the standard Experimental Letter is different now, and if I...

Experimental LSA gliders? by
[email protected]
Hi Gang
Having a LSA power plane and in reviewing the proposed new
experimental certifications (FAA Order 8130.2F) which includes gliders
left me very puzzled. Why would anyone register a glider or motor
glider as an experimental or standard light sport aircraft (LSA)
although 8130.2F...

Experimental question by
Wade G
I recently bought an experimental DG-303.
I am trying to get the new op limitations done ASAP while the season is ticking away. The FAA is not at the pace of my desire to get this thing up!
My question:
I've heard that a buyer might be able to fly using the previous limitations and a/w for 30 days...

experimental to standard certificate by
shkdriver
Anyone ever purchase a used glider with an experimental certificate, say for example, an ASW 19b, and change to a standard certificate?
I understand that some gliders were imported and flown as experimental such as jantars, due to govermental restrictions on reciprocal airworthiness...

experimental; registration & restrictions? by
tienshanman
Can anyone point me towards a good summary of the rules governing experimental registration of an imported, self launching glider? What is required to register and what you can and cannot do with it? Also, are there any regulatory or real world problems regarding flying one from a GA airport?

Greg Arnold[_2_]
Anyone have experience exporting a glider (especially to Argentina) and
getting one of these? Was it difficult to deal with the FAA?

exporting a glider from USA to Europe by
[email protected]
Anyone done this before out there in radio land?
I have a deal going down with a group in NL that want to buy a glider I
own.
What are the paperwork issues I need to be aware of when doing an
export sale?
Thanks

Does any one know what process you would have to go through to import a
G-reg glider into Germany and transfer onto the German register? Ie what
would a German buying a glider from blighty have to do?

Exporting Flight Stats from SeeYou by
Tony[_5_]
Looking to analyze a bunch of igc files for our clubs trophy program. These will be flights made throughout the year by club pilots often flying different gliders on different flights. I've investigated using SeeYou Competition for the scoring but it is not designed for this type of year long...

Extending new pilot comfort zone? by
tstock
Hi everyone, I've been reading "Advanced Soaring Made Easy" by Bernard
Eckey, and this is a fantastic book for a new pilot. It does discuss
learning to get out of the comfort zone of flying safely within glide
range of the airport. This is something I am just venturing into
myself and I was...

Extension cord gauge question by
Tuno
Yes, I know I'm a little OT here, but I am packing for Parowan :)
I recall someone once telling me that extension cords larger than 14
gauge (maybe he said 16) are a waste of money because the plugs at
each end are not rated for anything higher than what a 16 gauge wire
can provide.
Is this true...

External Mic for Handheld Transceiver by
Duster
I have an ICOM handheld transceiver that I use in gliders, but want to
configure a hands-free push-to-talk system w/external mic. My problem
is coming up with a good microphone that works with this. Attempts at
using mics with the minijack input has yielded poor voice transmission
compared with the...

External power for the Vertica V2 by
[email protected]
The battery on the V2 doesn't last long enough, and I'd like to supply the unit with some power from my on board 12V system. I know I can set up a cigar lighter plug in type connection to the mini connector at the bottom. But I'd like to use the DC connector at the top. What voltage and what type...
