Help, Need Complete Front Canopy for Grob 103 by
Carl Buehler
Hello All,
Unfortunatly we had our Grob 103 front canopy opened up on a guest ride
today. No one was hurt and the pilot landed the 103 without further
incident.
But the front canopy was broken and hinges damaged. Could anyone help us find
a complete front canopy for our Grob 103? We would really...

I am looking at cockpit sizes and I have been told the jantar 2a or b is
the same cockpit as a standard jantar.
The only jantars here are the 1st ones not the standard 2 or 3 ,
The question: are the original jantars the same cockpit as the 2 or 3

Use of Statics by
Robin Birch
Hi,
I have an Astir CS77, a fine but venerable glass machine. I am
refurbishing the cockpit, panel, and so on.
Having got the panel to bits I am looking at the best way of putting it
all back together. So:
1) I have two static systems, a forward system and a rear one. In the
current...

PEZ's first glider ride by
John Shelton
In a rare mid-week paste-up to the Avenal site
www.soaravenal.com
Pez goes out on his first glider ride.
Any similarity between any people, places and events is purely coincidental
and I don't have any money anyway so don't sue me.

Ardoin Turnpoint in Marfa area? by
chris
I was looking on the map trying to figure out some of the tasks that
Moffat wrote about in Winning on the Wing. In that book and his July
2003 Soaring article he writes about tasks using a turnpoint - the
town of "Ardoin". I cannot find Ardoin on a map of TX or NM.
Does anyone know where this...

WinPilot ADV comm port setting by
Ted Wagner
The latest version of WinPilot (4.61) does not seem to have the ability to
set the comm port for the GPS. (Mine is a NavMan 4400 wireless (Bluetooth).)
Has anyone else had experience with this?
Someone, somewhere said to go to Menu / Comm port, but I can only get a menu
in WinPilot Simulator, and...

Anyone ever had to use a winch guillotine for real? by
Gary Emerson
With all this talk about plasma rope, etc. and the need for guillotines,
etc. I got to wondering how many times had winch guillotines been
operated in a real emergency. Certainly people have tested them, but if
you know of a case where the winch driver had to cut a glider loose, let
us know here...

Why fly only seated? by
Gill Couto
I want to ask you folks a question: why isn't there a glider where
the pilot flies face-down? The Wrights did it, the Horten (?) wing,
and hang gliders are about the only thing you can fly facing the
earth. I don't see why a sailplane couldn't be flown that way, but no
designers appear to even...
