Post Annual Flight check - Video by
[email protected]
Short video of my first flight after an annual.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iUmd4LjXow
Absolutely amazing how 6 pounds in the tail cone can improve my
landings. I had 45 pounds in the cargo to bring the CG aft. I now
was able to remove all of that weight due to a measily 6 pounds in...

Nice Christmas Present by
C J Campbell
Went into work yesterday and found in the showroom a brand new Cessna T206
with the G1000 package. Wow. The new owner is said to be very excited. I
wonder if he will let me have a few minutes with it?

182 Down at 4N1 by
Bob Chilcoat
The Newark Star Ledger this morning reported a 182 crash on takeoff
yesterday at Greenwood Lake, NJ. Two very experienced pilots, both killed
in the ensuing fire. Really a shame. Lee Ross (Rosspilot) was apparently
in the pattern at the time. Someone was quoted as saying that the pilot
reported...

and has any advice for me.
I will be single-pilot IFR, will be flying a Beech Debonair and am
planning to file for a TAS of 165kts at 10,000'. I've broken the...

Challenger Accident at Tupelo by
Gary Mishler
From Aviation International News:
Bombardier Points to Cause of Tupelo Challenger Overrun
It's probable that a bent-down microphone jack receptacle near the base of
the copilot's control column prevented aft movement of the yoke, causing a
Challenger 600 to overrun the runway during takeoff from...

Stories Like this Bug Me by
Kyle Boatright

"More than half of U.S. commercial airports don't have a 1,000-foot margin
at the end of a runway, an overrun area the federal government says is
needed as a safety zone, according to a new report."
"Part of the problem is that airports were built in...

Meeting an Ace by
Jay Honeck
On Wednesday we flew to Spirit Lake, IA to visit with an aviation
artist, both for the inn and to evaluate his ability to appear at our
upcoming Iowa City 2-day hoopla, the Big Kids Toy Show.
(Yes, we visited the Surf Ballroom, where Buddy Holly played his last
gig. It's still there, and still...

Kingfish
Musta been a slow news day in CA yesterday. A Warrior made an emergency
landing with its left main gear hanging by the brake line. Reportedly
there was a student & instructor onboard. I'm guessing they clipped

Home made aviation websites are cool! by

I have over time really enjoyed looking at the personal websites that some

Most recently I enjoyed the biography of Filip Zawadiak

I was wondering how many others have websites with pictures and videos of
your flying...

Bose active headsets by

I tried Lightspeeds (25XL and Thirty 3G), and Telex Stratus 50D and I still
have those two in my aircraft but I wear the Bose! The only thing I wish the
Bose had was an external audio input like the other two do (I upgraded the
Stratus 50D this month). It's light and comfortable all day...
