New iPAQ by
Jacek Kobiesa
There is a new format of iPAQs. I just look at HP web site and the
have new (at least new to me and my knowledge) iPAQ 4705, 3715,
3115,etc. Does anyone know how they work with WinPilot and Cambridge
302 for example? How about those digital iPAQs? Looking for feedback
and information.

302 Issues, Probably self Inflicted... Experts? by
Linwood Stevenson
Hi All,
Previous flight last week my 302 abruptly quite recording mid flight, a fact I wasn't aware of until after landing and viewing the downloaded .igc file. Was a good 400k+ flight too, but thats beside the point.... Anyway, checked out the log file and it appeared to be full, so I assumed...

Pocket PC Training - Free Online Videos by
Paul Remde
Hi,
A little over 2 years ago I created a series of short training videos for
glider pilots related to the use of Pocket PCs. The CD containing all the
videos has sold quite well.
I have now made low resolution (320 x 240 pixels) versions of all the Pocket
PC Training videos available online...

Cherokee out and about by
[email protected]
With excellent soaring conditions forecast for today, I decided to
take the Cherokee on a trip. Sure wouldve been nice to put more miles
on, but I fell out of booming skies after about an hour and a half
flight. Made it about 50 nautical miles to a really nice field. Here
is the report copied...

Performance loss versus yaw string deflection by
Eric Greenwell
I don't recall ever seeing an estimate of the performance loss in a
glider as a function of yaw string deflection. Does anyone know what it is?
Ultimately, I'm wondering how much attention should be paid to
deflections of, say, 1/8", 1/4", 1/2", etc., on the usual 4"-5" long yaw
string.
I...

1201 & Tow Planes by
Jamie Shore
The Soaring Club of Houston and the Houston TRACON have recently
agreed to allow tow planes to squawk 1201 during towing operations.
The ATC sector manager agrees that it is a good idea and it is worth
trying for a couple of months. After the trial period, our club and
TRACON will talk to review...

The movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" includes no soaring
and no gliders, but in one scene there is a _picture_ of a sailplane
hanging on the wall.

Grob wing retainer bearings by

The aft wing locks on my Grob G102 are just about at their limits and it
looks like I will be installing oversize bearings to correct this. Does
anyone have experience doing this and if so, how difficult of a job is it?
