Charles Lindbergh: Aviation, the Cosmos, and the Future of Man by
Dan Luke
"We must find a way to blend with our present erratic tyranny
of mind the countless, subtle and still-little-known elements
that created the tangible shape of man and his intangible
extensions. Through the eons these elements have raised
the human complex to a sensitivity which recognizes that...

Ping C-172XP owners by
Jack Allison
Any C-172XP owners out there? I have a potential partner and the 172XP
is a plane that would fit nicely into a first time ownership scenario
for both of us. Looking for any advice, the good, the bad, the ugly
the XP model. TIA!

My plane cost $40 yesterday by
Charles Talleyrand
I spent $40 on my plane yesterday. That topped off the tanks and put a
quart of oil in the engine. With this I was able to fly from home to
Houghton, and back, which is about 150 miles round trip.
I haven't spent $40 on plane all in the same day since the last annual.
My plane is eating me out...

Anyone have any comments or experience with these things that blow dry
air into the engine?

I'm worried since I've only been able to fly every 2-3 weeks recently.

Pocket PC GPS software. by
R.T.
Hello all. Just wondering if anyone is using a Pocket PC with GPS and what
software they are using. I already have a Garmin 196 but I also have a
Pocket PC with GPS and thought it would make a good backup.
Thanks in advance.

Wet Signature on W&B? by
Jim Weir
Got asked a question that I can't find the answer to.
Say I take a feller's logbooks home during the annual and after a few hours of
grunt and scream I come up with what I think is the current equipment list and a
defensible weight and balance. I sign off the w&b in the logbook and give...

I won't have to drill the windshield to install?

Insurance payout and 'totaling' by
Michael Horowitz
You insure your a/c . You have an accident and the insurance company
says that if the estimate is between 60-70% of the insured value, they
declare it totaled.
Why is the cut-off point 30-40% lower than the insured value?
