Interesting google maps shot of LGA by
Roy Smith
Check out this photo of ops at LGA: http://tinyurl.com/32pon8. Unless I'm
interpreting the photo wrong, there's one jet on a takeoff roll on 31,
another jet in position and hold at the threshold, and a third jet on less
than 1/4 mile final.
Are we looking at a go-around about to happen? Or is...

Shadin flowmeter problems - anyone else sees this? by
Steve Beaver
Just a guess but EEPROM can be very slow indeed. Depending on the exact part
number, it may not even be possible to change a single location in the chip.
This means that you have to read the entire contents (or a large part) of
the chip, change the value you need to update and then write it all...

RFD: remove rec.aviation.questions by
Brian Whatcott
It's been a while since I've seen a new group solicitation. But I
don't recall EVER seeing an old group removal solicitation.
Sounds like a no-brainer: no traffic speaks for itself.
Good for Jim!

WTB: 135 Ticket by
AML
I am in the market for a 135 operation. I am finding out that going
through the FAA would take about a year and I don't have the time to
wait that long. If anybody has one for sale or knows someone that is
thinking about selling it, let me know.
Thanks

Emergency Floor Lights by

Hello,
Please can someone tell me what happens during an emergency on an
aircraft, with regard to the lighting and sounds:
Do the Exit signs light up? Or are they always lit up during a flight?
Do the main cieling lights remain on?
Do the passenger lights (above the seats) remain on?
Are the...

Commentary on UAL Pilots' Whining and Bellyaching by
[email protected]
I presented a brain teaser of sorts to my friend who had been a
professional football player and coach.
I asked: "What would you say of a football coach who recruited (within
constraints) less than the best players for his team?"
Well, my friend simply couldn't fathom this. He kept repeating:...

The Last Flight of the Blue Goose by
Cribsheet
Just finished a page turner for you WWII fans about a B-24 that disappeared on
a routine flight and wasn't found until 30 years later. It's available on
Amazon and titled 'The Last Flight of the Blue Goose'.
