No need to punch a bunch of holes in the lower wing skin.

very skinny fiber-optic scope that will run the entire length of the wing.
If you have need,
call Paul at (770) 499 7755

Region 4 S: ELT Mandatory by
Chris OCallaghan
I just received a note from Lanier Frantz stating that all competitors
at R4S must have an ELT. I understand the reason for this decision,
but I question whether it will have the intended effect. I have long
been against mandatory ELT use in soaring competitions for one reason
only: they do not...

A Rough Day Towing by
Dan Marotta
Seems I'm towing more than soaring these days...
A couple of days ago, while rolling out on final at about 300' AGL, a strong
gust under the high wing upset the Pawnee. Fortunately (for me), I carry a
lot of energy around the final turn, and was able to recover and land
normally. I had to...

Help - Cobra Trailer Top Lift Springs by
rec.aviation.soaring
Installed new gas lift springs purchased from Spindelberger yesterday
afternoon. Trailer is early 1990's aluminum top Cobra for a Discus.
Installation was relatively straight forward BUT I cannot get the lid
to fully close now. I am now stuck with partially open trailer.
One side is almost...

Tracker by
[email protected]
One of the more interesting uses of the new ssa sailplane tracker is getting to follow some of our fellow pilot's adventures when they drive around and forget to turn the spot off.
Someone went from Mifflin to get a glider out of Baltimore today, and some how got in and out of the port in about...

Libelles & Tost Rings by
nowhere
I know the subject has been brought up before, but I was wondering if
anyone out there has come up with any new ways of coping with the way
that the current pattern Tost rings bind in Libelle nose hooks. Going
through the archives I found three possibilities mentioned: 1; Make
the aperature in the...

Connecting my 2 Batteries to 1 Solar Panel by
Dan G[_2_]
I would like to connect my 2 8AH batteries to one Solar panel for charging while the glider is in its trailer. I will use a controller and I have 2 separate sockets in the glider-one per battery.
I thought to simply split the wires coming out of the controller to the two batteries/sockets but I...

SN-10 vs CAI 302 by
Frank
Hi,
I have been using a SN-10B/Volkslogger combination in my LS-4 for the
last 5 years and have loved it. However, I just acquired a glider with
a CAI-302/PDA combination and am contemplating swapping the systems
before selling my LS-4.
I like the presumed flexibiity of taking the PDA with me at...

Soaring Sept 06 Cover Question by
ContestID67
On the cover of the September 2006 issue of Soaring is pictured Eric
Mozer's Discus. Cool shot.
The question I have is what is the long thin white "things" which
appear to be coming from the nose and the right wing of the glider?
Thanks, John

SSA State & Nat Records Rules Conflict by

All -
OK so I've submitted some State Records and there is confusion amongst
the people processing the claims... Basically it boils down to a
question on how many Records can be claimed in a single flight.
Some people are saying that you can only submit 1 Distance and 1 Speed
record claimed per...

To Walter Eisele and Comrades by
John
Give it up, Walter!
Nobody will buy your Eastern block manufactured "pseudo-LS" crap, and you
will only succeed in 2 things:
1. Causing the extinction of some exquisitely beautiful sailplanes.
2. Having you and your 'secret investor' go bankrupt.
