I am trying to download the OLC info for our club in Excel format. This I can do successfully. However, while the file is named ".XLS" it appears to be a delimited text file. When I load it into Excel, for every flight, I get 3 lines in the Excel Spreadsheet. The first line goes to the end of the given name, the next is the surname, and the third is the rest of the record. While I can fix all of this by hand, I'd rather not. Looking at the file with Notepad, it appears the culprit are 2 CR embedded in the name field, with tabs between the items in the name field. Anybody have a way of easily loading the file provide by the OLC into Excel? Thanks, John John, The file is not an easy one to work with. Try this: Open the file in MS word. Hit the replace button. Find what: type ^p plus six spaces Replace with: type ^t This will take the two lines with returns and the six space out and replace them each with a tab. You may have extra lines, if so do a second replace. Find what: type ^p"^p Replace with: ^p This will take the extra line and the " out. Now copy the data and paste it into excel. |
