Has anyone got any definitive documentation regarding the fitting of "thin"
shims on Astir wing spigots that are approaching the 5mm limit on collars I recall having something a few years ago, but unable to retrieve it Fully aware of the engineering logic of too thick shims and ball/spigot relationship |

The rotating collars are locking the wings correctly, the FM states there
needs to be a 5mm gap shown on the locking collar, which is now approaching The paperwork I had as far as I recall was from Grob to the UK air cadets who flew a fleet of Grob gliders, which stated that a thin shim could be placed onto the wing spigots to take up wear. I believe the approved fix for this is to install ball, of a larger diamiter.
