An update to the IGC-approval document for the Zander/SDI 941 recorder
has been agreed and is effective from 20 August 2006. The revised document will appear on the web site shortly. The reason for this update is that at the recent World Championships in Sweden, under poor reception conditions some timing errors were found in IGC files from type 941 recorders. The reason for these errors is corrected in Firmware Version V2.11 and the upgrade to 2.11 is available free to recorders sent to the manufacturers SDI and Zander. For performances that require evidence of accurate time, where type 941recorders are concerned, only those with Firmware V2.11 or later should now be used. These points are covered in the amended IGC-approval document in which the rest of the wording is also updated to that used in recent approvals. Ian Strachan Chairman IGC GFA Committee |
